For example, let's say you own a website on which you sell Stock Exchange information. Affiliates are invited to join your 'program', which you describe on your site. You explain how it works and you set the commission (%) the advertiser will receive. You then create a link to the Affiliate Program signup page, which is hosted on Verotel's server. Verotel will automatically create a new affiliate account and email your new affiliate specific information with changes to HTML code. You create a number of Stock Exchange banners, which advertise your site and your content. These banners are then stored on a freely accessible area of your website.

Once your advertiser implements the new HTML code, your banners automatically appear on the website(s) of your affiliates. You have now created an instant advertising program for your content.

Example:

1. An interested customer, let's call him John, visits the website of one of your affiliates. He is looking for Stock Exchange information and finds a banner of interest.
2. Once he clicks on the banner, a hidden code, or cookie, is added to his browser.
3. John is hyperlinked to your website and buys content. When the transaction is processed, Verotel checks to see if a hidden advertising code is present in John's browser. If the code is present, Verotel will automatically calculate the commissions and pay out the advertiser's designated share of the sale directly.
You present the content to John. In your statement overview, you will find that a portion of the sale went to your affiliate. You can determine yourself what percentage of each transaction should be given to your online affiliate.
